The mission of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps is to build leaders of character by imbuing in our cadets the highest ideals of honor, respect, commitment, and service.
To develop an interest and skill in seamanship and provide instruction in leadership, courage and commitment, the USNSCC training program acquaints cadets with CPR and First Aid, Swimming, Lifesaving and Water Safety, Health and Hygiene in a drug-free, gang-free environment through lectures and hands-on practice.
The standardized training program provides approximately 8300 training opportunities at navy or coast guard bases, ships and aircraft squadrons. Cadets have a diverse selection of advanced training including Aviation, Ship Propulsion Systems, Submarine Systems, Medical/Hospital/Surgical, Legal/JAG Corps, Homeland Security, Navy Seal, Basic Marine Mammal Sciences, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Amphibious Operations, Math, Engineering and much more. The program emphasizes leadership skills, while cadets are exposed to a variety of civilian and military career opportunities and encouraged to participate in civic activities.
…We Stick Together!
WHO WE ARE
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a youth program for young Americans, male and female, ages 13 through 17, whose objectives are to develop an interest and skill in basic seamanship and in its naval adaptations, to train them in seagoing skills and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance and kindred virtues. Cadets train aboard the ships and shore activities of the Navy and Coast Guard, and are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with Sea Cadet Corps insignia. There are some 400 units in operation in almost every state in the union as well as Puerto Rico and Guam, with some 6,000 young Americans participating. The Naval Sea Cadet Corps affords equal opportunity for participation to all American youth without regard to race, color, religion or sex.
WE DO
We provide compelling, life-changing programs for America’s youth that teach them the values of teamwork, discipline, service, and ethical leadership through our passionate all-volunteer force and our partnerships with the Navy and Coast Guard.
RESULTS
In 2020 alone, we have served 9,600 cadets. Despite the global pandemic, our cadets have stayed motivated and determined to become stronger leaders, rooted in the values of honor, respect, commitment, and service.
